What We Do…

We are a family run toy retailer based in magical Cornwall. We pride ourselves on our ethical and environmental policies and support fair trade. We demand high standards from our suppliers to ensure you receive the very best.

Our toys are made from woods such as beech, alder and rubberwood, all of which produce superior products that have a rewarding feel. The varnishes and paints used are all environmentally friendly, non toxic and child safe. The design of the toys stand out as years of thought and tradition has gone into creating them.

We also have a selection of soft toys as children need a variety of textures to awaken their senses. Like our wooden toys, most of our cloth and foam toys are made of natural materials and all are free from harmful toxins and chemicals. All our toys are tested to En71 and Non-Phthalates regulations to ensure their safety.

The Story So Far…

Holz Toys began in 2002 when Rebecca and Christoph returned to the UK after several years living in Germany. During their time there they discovered the special regard that was held for wooden toys, a tradition that had lost its way in the UK.
With two young children and an ever growing passion for wooden products they set out to bring these beautiful toys they had seen in Germany to the UK’s children. Relocating back to Cornwall where Rebecca had grown up, they set up Holz Toys from a small home office producing a mail order catalogue and internet site.

Thankfully there were many parents and grandparents out there who loved what they were doing and as a result, eight years on with two more children, having moved to a large office and warehouse in Lostwithiel and having recruited a fantastic team, Holz Toys has grown to be one of the UK’s leading wooden toy retailers.

Throughout Holz’s history, it has been our aim to bring you finely crafted wooden toys that are environmentally friendly, safe and designed to inspire and awaken the imagination. We put a lot of time and effort into selecting a varied and high quality range of toys that we hope you will enjoy as much as we do.
